How To Get More Done Each Week

Sometimes it feels like there are not enough hours in a day when you are trying to work on a side project or have a side hustle. This can make you feel drained and overwhelmed by the amount of work you need to do and the lack of hours you have to achieve your goals. Today I will share with you what I have learned and what has helped me optimize my schedule.P.S. There is a Time Blocking Freebie for you at the end!

Get More Done

Time Block Your Schedule

To start I want you to take a good look at your existing schedule by filling out an hourly planner for a typical day in your life. We're going to use time blocking as a way to make sense of your schedule. Once you give a name to each hour you will clearly be able to see where you have some free time or time when you are not being productive. At this point, you can decide if you want to use this time to work towards your goals or maybe you want to use it as personal self-care time. this is completely up to you. My advice is that before you decide what to do with your new found time, you should try and estimate how long it's going to take you to achieve your goal.

Simple Prioritization

If you're trying to do a few things at once like learn a language start a business and learn to code, the hard truth is that it's probably not going to work out. you will get burnt out quickly and it will just be too hard. instead, focus on one thing at a time (maximum 2). This way you are much more likely to get to the finish line, and you will get there faster.Something you need to decide is what your priorities are. it's completely okay to choose something over your side hustle but you need to understand that it was most likely your decision to do that. This is a valid decision and it's understandable. However, If this project is something extremely important to you, look at your hourly schedule and prioritize your hustle over unproductive time, or time when you are being lazy. The truth is that motivation can only get you so far, in the end, it's your priorities that will get you where you want to be. It's important to imagine what the future will look like if you don't make time for your goals. If this future scares you, then you are ready to take these obstacles on!

Conclusion

If you look at your schedule and you'll see that most of your time is productive, it's time to take a step back and look at things objectively. If you focus on one thing at the time you will get much further, faster. Use time that you are spending on three things, just on your one, most important goal. The fact that you are doing any of these things and trying to better yourself already brings you ahead of most people. Never put yourself down for setting aside time for yourself and time for your family and friends. Our goals are important if we want to change the world but we won't be able to do that if we don't take care of our bodies and minds. Always try to remember this.
